Residential Zoning Permits

Residential Zoning Permits protect you, your family, home, and other financial investments by providing records which can be used in such circumstances as a sale, subdivision, or legal dispute. 

 

Residential Zoning Permits are required when constructing the following:

  • New home
  • Placement of a manufactured / modular / mobile home
  • Replacement of a manufactured / modular / mobile home
  • Home addition
  • Barn 
  • Shed
  • Garage (attached/detached)
  • Fence
  • Pool
  • Any architectural projection or structure greater than three (3) feet in height, including enclosures and overhangs, but excluding doghouses

Permit Applications, along with a Step-by-Step Permit Application Guide, can be obtained by following the website links below. They can also be picked up at the Department of Planning and Zoning located at 135 West Shelby Street in the City of Falmouth, Kentucky, 41040 along with being picked up at local businesses and the Pendleton County Library. Website link for the Agricultural / Farmers Zoning Permit Application. This pertains to those properties located on five or more contiguous acres being used for agricultural / farming purposes as defined in KRS 100.111.External Link - You are now leaving the .gov domain.  This permit does not apply to homes, swimming pools, or any structure not used for agricultural activity.

Please Note: Depending on the type of structure being built, other permits may be require from other county organizations in order to a release a zoning permit. The table in the Pendleton County Zoning Permit Brochure oultines when such permits are neccessary and the contacts for each organization.
