WALK TO WIN! - Pendleton County Trail Quest

During these uncertain times when so many events are being canceled, getting outdoors is a great alternative. With this in mind, Pendleton County is offering a fun, healthy activity entitled “Pendleton County Trail Quest”.   We have some great walking trails in the county and Trail Quest gives you extra incentive to get out and enjoy some sun and  scenery.  The Pendleton County Trail Quest challenges you to find invisible waypoints along the trail using your phone and a free app called UsynligO.  Just download and install the app (Apple App Store download, Google Play Store) , hit the trail, and as you find each of the waypoints, your phone will alert you. This will be a great way to enjoy the trail, have a little adventure along the way and maybe win a prizes sponsored by the Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce.

Prizes will be gift certificates to local establishments.  Contest begins July 1 to July 31 2020.

After you complete a trail on UsynligO, text the letter that appears in the gray area and your name to 859-545-0905 OR private message at facebook.com/pendletoncounty to be entered into
a drawing that will take place on Saturday, August 1st.  See the printable instructions and the video on this page for details on using the app.

HOW TO ENTER THE DRAWING:
There are various Trail Quest courses on the South Fork River Trail.  The more miles you walk, the more chances you have to win!  See the app for exactly where the trails begin.

You’ll get one chance at the drawing for each half-mile trail you complete.  In other words, the longer the trail you walk, the more chances you have to win.

IMPORTANT NOTES: GPS (LocationAccuracy) - If you have an Android phone, please make sure you have "Google location accuracy" enabled on your phone. Otherwise, any app will get infrequent and not as accurate location updates from the hardware on your phone. This setting can be found in settings->location->advanced on some phones, but certain models will have it in settings->security.

Phone Battery Life – Have your GPS on will lower battery life. Be sure to check ALWAYS use location when out on the trail. This must be done for the app to work properly. Be sure to go back to your settings when you are finished and turn the location settings back to NEVER.
