Help Pendleton County get money for our schools, roads, veterans, and much more! The 2020 Census is coming up in April of 2020. For EVERY person who doesn't respond, our county loses up to $2,021 - PER PERSON PER YEAR.

It is extremely important and in our best interest to ensure everyone in our county is counted. Census numbers are used for numerous federal, state and local programs and translate into money for a variety of people and organizations in our county. Here’s just a few things from a long list of what this data may be used for:

• Grants to our schools (Ex. Title 1).
• Head Start programs.
• Federal grant programs - like the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program
• Public transportation.
• Road construction
• Programs for our Senior Citizens.

In order to assist the Census Bureau in counting everyone, a Complete Count Committee (CCC) is being formed here in Pendleton County. Ideally the CCC is made up of volunteers that represent a broad cross section of people and organizations in the county. The committee would work together and discuss ways to increase awareness and to motivate all residents to respond to the Census. We are looking for representatives to join us on the CCC such as:

• School Leadership
• Media
• Businesses
• Community Organizations
• Churches
• Education
• Veterans
• Group Quarters (Falmouth Nursing Home, River Valley Nursing Home)
• Government (County Judge, Mayors)
